Dr. Francesca Battaglin, Research Scientist and Medical Oncologist at the University of Southern California Norris Comprehensive Cancer Center, helps us understand the benefits and the limitations of ctDNA for patients with Esophageal Cancer.

Biomarker testing has become valuable in nearly every stage of cancer care decision-making. Information once only available through a tissue biopsy can now be much more readily accessed with a blood sample. Dr. Battaglin and her colleague Heinz-Josef Lenz, are the authors of a recently published article entitled Clinical Applications of Circulating Tumor DNA Profiling in GI Cancers.
